bedwellstudio, is based out of Barcelona, Spain. It is an innovative architecture and design practice with a passion to create outstanding projects. We love what we do and care about design details through the use of natural materials and technology. We have both local and international experience, and design stunning projects that are respectful with the environment, unique, functional, cozy, and life enhancing.
Our team is made up of highly qualified architects and designers across a mix of disciplines, and together we have designed a series of award–winning spaces and products that mix both innovation and rigorous attention to detail.
Our studio can provide a variety of services including: architecture, interiors, landscape, lighting, furniture, product and styling, while controlling quality, costs and execution timing, as well as Design Consulting Services for companies within the field.
With over 25 years of experience, its founder, Katherine Bedwell, has worked in projects built throughout the world in Europe, North America, South America, The Caribbean Islands, Middle East, Africa and Asia, and has collaborated with renowned firms both in Miami and Barcelona to design and develop a diversity of project typologies, including Luxury Residential, Hotels & Resorts, Restaurants & Retail, among others.

Katherine has a double BArch degree from Pratt Institute in New York in 1994 and ETSALS Barcelona in 2010, and earned her Master’s degree in Architecture, Public Spaces, and Urban Culture at the Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain in 2001.
She has also completed Architectural Studies at Harvard Graduate School of Design in Theory, History and Technology of Architecture.
Katherine has wide local and international experience in architecture and design, and several design nominations, including the Delta Awards 2007 & 2011, Designpreis 2009 and FAD 2010. Her works have been published in professional magazines and books in Spain, United States, Italy, and Australia, and her projects have been exhibited in galleries worldwide: FAD Barcelona, Storefront for Art and Architecture Gallery New York, Pratt Gallery NY, Cooper-Hewitt Museum, Venice Design Week, Biennale di Venezia, and Design Akademie Berlin among others.
